In response to the statement issued by Shahid Beheshti University condemning the assassination of its martyred scholars, the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) has conveyed its condolences in an official letter to the Iranian academic community. In this message, RSUH expressed deep regret over the recent tragic events that led to the martyrdom of university professors and the loss of civilian lives, reaffirming its solidarity with the people of Iran and the country’s academic institutions.
The letter, signed by Dr. V. Zabotkina, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, states:
“The Russian State University for the Humanities expresses its profound concern regarding the tragic incidents that have resulted in civilian casualties. We remain committed to the principles of respect for international law, the sovereignty of states, and humanitarian values.”
Vice-Rector Zabotkina further emphasized RSUH’s support for the aspirations of the Iranian academic community in pursuit of peace and stability: “In this regard, the Russian State University for the Humanities supports the aspirations of the Iranian academic community for peace and stability and condemns any actions that may lead to the escalation of tensions. In these difficult times, we stand in solidarity with the people of Iran and Iranian universities.”
In conclusion, she underlined the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation: “The Russian State University for the Humanities remains open to dialogue and broader interaction in the fields of science, education, and culture, on the basis of mutual respect and shared interests.”
